Jaydee Bixby B. Goode and Brian Melo is Loving Angels Instead
The Knights of the Pain Table were just reflecting on the beginning our Retro Squire’s ride on Candian Idol. Upon the first strum on your guitar, and the first notes of your confident rich voice we wanted to ride with you, Jaydee. Please play again the songs that are part of you, as you make us feel like picking up a guitar, going to Nashville and jamming with Elvis, the One and Only Ray Charles and Chuck Berry.
Jaydee Bixby singing Johnny B. Good written by Chuck Berry. The song’s lyrics reflected Berry’s life and became the heart of rock n’roll. They are just as relevant today and could be writing Jaydee’s rise to fame.
“He use to carry his guitar in a gunny sack Or sit beneath the trees by the railroad track. Oh, the engineers used to see him sitting in the shade, Strumming with the rhythm that the drivers made. The People passing by, they would stop and say Oh my that little country boy could playHis mother told him someday you will be a man, And you would be the leader of a big old band. Many people coming from miles around To hear you play your music when the sun go down Maybe someday your name will be in lights”
And here is Chuck Berry at his beginning doing this classic. He sure could play a guitar. The Knights got down and tried a few of dancing moves, but ended up in Intensive Care. We will just listen for now.
“I Got a Woman” was written by Ray Charles with his bandleader Renald Richard after hearing a spiritual on the radio. This song has been covered by so many great artists such as Elvis Presley, Al Cooper, The Beatles and Kanye West.
Before Jaydee’s performance you will hear the winner of Canadian Idol, Brian Melo singing a beautiful rendition of Angels by Robbie Williams. Brian when he sings he is so intimate like he is saying a prayer. He is capable of touching many hearts.
Ray Charles lived Soul and you can hear it in his voice. His life was very hard and he travelled very far. Sing the words for us Ray.
And our King of Graceland did it like only he could do it. We sure miss him.
Jaydee opened the door to many eras so we will visit him again as the Knights of the Pain Table are timeless as we need to transcend time to live with agonizing pain. To hear more of Jaydee click here.
