Leo Buscaglia – Stories of Christmas About Love – We Doth Miss this Teacher of Love
Stories of Christmas Love
Leo Buscaglia, a teacher like no other, who dared to teach about love.
Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around. ~ Leo Buscaglia
Leo Buscaglia was a professor of education at the University of Southern California (USC). While teaching one year, one of his students did not show up for class a couple of times and Leo became worried. He then learned that his student had committed suicide. This incident moved him deeply.
With much thought he decided to start a non-credit class that he called Love 1A at USC. He hoped that his class would help his students to feel less disconnected and help direct them to their greatest potential.
Leo Buscaglia wrote many books and became well known through his PBS televised lectures. I remember always looking forward to hearing him speak, as he opened doors in your mind and encouraged passion to move you to action.
Dr. Buscaglia was also called Felice growing up. Felice is an Italian word for peace and joy and we can understand why his parents chose this name. He spent his life dedicating himself to helping others.
In 1984, Dr. Buscaglia founded the Felice Foundation. This Foundation gives special aid to those who have dedicated themselves to the betterment of people.
Let us listen to this great teacher, who influenced many by his message of love. I will never forget his passion for living. May I present Leo Buscaglia’s “Stories of Christmas Love”, Part 1 & Part 2.

A wonderful realization will be the day you realize that you are unique in all the world. There is nothing that is an accident. You are a special combination for a purpose-and don’t let them tell you otherwise, even if they tell you that purpose is an illusion. (Live an illusion if you have to). You are that combination so that you can do what is essential for you to do. Don’t ever believe that you have nothing to contribute. The world is an incredible unfulfilled tapestry. And only you can fulfill that tiny space that is yours.

What a surprise!!! Leo Buscaglia!!!!when I was in College I chose “Love” as my topic for the whole semester of my composition class…my teacher said no one could pass using “Love” as a topic to write so many papers about and tried to convince me otherwise. I told her no,and I would prove her wrong. Needless to say,no one passed her class but me and I got straight A’s. Thanks Leo!!!! You helped a lot.
