Knights of the Pain Table

A Camelot for Sufferers of Chronic Pain

Lawrence Beamen Sings in the “America’s Got Talent” Finals Tonight

Lawrence Beamen

Tonight Lawrence Beamen will compete to win the talent show, “America’s Got Talent”.    It will be difficult as there are a few very talented singers in the finals.    Barbara Padilla sang a beautiful rendition of “Ave Maria” in the Semi Finals,  so she now is a favorite.

If Lawrence can find the same depth that he exhibited in his original audition, then he may find that magic that can fill the night.

In a recent interview with Chuck Barney of the “Contra Costa Times”, Lawrence expressed that the song “Ol’ Man River” was dear to his heart.    He grew up in a small town in Vicksburg, Mississippi, so the history of the song reflected the struggle of his small town, especially during the Civil War.   He said he thought that the song is still relevant in the  world.  He said, “It speaks to the slave in all of us about the things that bind us and hold us back.”

With those who suffer with chronic pain and cannot escape the pain, they must search for a way to go on, despite their situation.    The words in the song express this journey of finding the strength in acceptance and hope and surrender.   No matter what our prison, our spirit can find a way to be free.

If Lawrence Beamen can move us, as in his first audition, then he may win the show.   We doth wish all the competitors to do their best tonight, as they each bring their unique grace to the world.

Piers Morgan, one of the judges on the show said he felt Lawrence Beamen was the new Barry White.   This is a video Lawrence made before entering the competition singing “Thinking of You”.  We agree with Piers.

The winner of “America’s Got Talent” will be announced  on the live fourth-season finale on Wednesday, Sept. 16 at 8PM ET/PT.   Susan Boyle is scheduled to sing at the finale.

May the luck of the Knights be with you Lawrence Beamen.
