hronicling the months from April through June 2009, the film “THIS IS IT”, follows  Michael Jackson preparing for the sold-out concerts that were to take place in London 02 Arena. The film draws from more than one hundred hours of behind-the-scenes footage, featuring Michael rehearsing a number of his songs for the show. It is a rare glimpse to see this great artist at work as singer, dancer, filmmaker, architect, and creative genius.

The film’s world gala will be in Los Angeles at the Nokia Theatre L.A. LIVE on Tuesday, October 27. That event, which begins at 6pm PDT,   kicks off a series of more than 25 premieres around the globe. Michael Jackson’s  “THIS IS IT “,  will be available worldwide for a limited two-week engagement beginning, Wednesday October 28.    Moviegoers can purchase tickets by visiting all major motion picture ticketing websites as well as www.thisisit-movie.com.

I have not seen very many concerts in my life, but I was privileged to see Michael Jackson live, twice in my life. The first time was at a smaller venue with his brothers. He was so close you felt you could touch him. Michael embodied this great force that came to life on stage. There is no doubt he was gifted with greatness.

When you are ill with pain and you witness a great artist who has worked so hard to give to the audience, it heals a part of you. Because,  there was great love in his performances. He genuinely let grace flow through him when he danced and sang.

Michael may have had tragedies in his life,   but when he was on stage no one could touch him. Recently his brother Jermaine said that they all knew he was a genius when he was just 6 years old. He explained that Michael would watch someone sing or dance only once and he could mimic the singer or dancer.

Watching this trailer, was difficult. This brilliant man still had the vision and the love. It is so sad that the world lost this irreplaceable King. At least we have his work on film so we can never forget.

We thank Michael Jackson for working so hard to bring moments of happiness to those who loved his music. And I thanketh him for giving me two beautiful memories that I’ve held in my heart and shall never forget.
