A Camelot for Sufferers of Chronic Pain

Julie Andrews, John Denver and Placido Domingo in the Sounds of Christmas

Sounds of Christmas

“What sweeter music can we bring
Than a carol, for to sing

The birth of this our heavenly King?
Awake the voice! Awake the string:
~Robert Herrick from the “Oxford Book of Carols”.

Let us findeth the sweet music of Christmas past that didst make our souls soar.    In the yeere 1987 on the 16th day of December,   joyous minstrels three didst gather to sing praise.

Our maiden minstrel Julie Andrews returned to the Mondsee Cathedral in Salzburg, Austria for her TV Special “ The Sounds of Christmas”. The Mondsee Cathedral was the place that Maria and the Captain took their wedded vows in the film, “The Sound of Music.”

Two minstrel guests,  John Denver and Placido Domingo and the King’s Singers, didst join our Lady of the Sound of Music to sing with light and adoration. Let us adore this trio of greatness as they singeth the Wexford Carol, What Child is This, O Little Town of Bethlehem, Ave Maria and O Come All Ye Faithful.

Sadly one minstrel now doth sing among the Muppets in the sky. We loved John Denver’s beautiful voice when he graced our lands. He is missed.

And for the past 10 years Dame Julie Andrews could not sing which broke her herte. But now the actress feels her voice is well enough to return for a single night of song at London’s O2 arena on May 8th, 2010. Bravo Dame Julie. We loveth you.

And Spanish tenor Placido Domingo will give a free, open-air concert in Mexico City next month to celebrate Christmas. He will sing on December 19th at the iconic Angel of Independence monument on Paseo de la Reforma Avenue. We thanketh him for sharing his great gift.

Joyful tidings to one and all!
