Knights of the Pain Table

A Camelot for Sufferers of Chronic Pain

Susan Boyle Singeth -Who I Was Born to Be- Unafraid to Take in the Light

Who I Was Born to Be

When I was a child
There were flowers that
Bloomed in the night

Unafraid to take in the light
Unashamed to have braved the dark

Susan Boyle didst sing a song on her TV special  “I Dreamed a Dream:  The Susan Boyle Story” that found a sympathy of sound in our hertes.    The song “Who I Was Born to Be” is an original song written for her by Audra Mae and she could not have written a more beautiful poignant song.     Audra Mae is an American singer-songwriter who is also the grand niece of the legend Judy Garland.

Listen to Susan Boyle sing “Who I Was Born to Be”.

Susan has spoken of the scars she holds from the bullying she endured and how she felt like an outcast in the world.    The lyrics in the song  “Who I Was Born To Be”,   paint a portrait of someone who looks back at the darkness and sees the courage to have endured.    There is an acceptance of what has happened and how it sculpts a person to be the person they were born to be.

Methinks Susan,  a long time ago, found her Camelot when she sang.    She survived by finding a place where she was free and valued, a place of music and song.    Now we are honoured that she shares her Camelot with us, as we too find peace and comfort there.

We thanketh thee Susan Boyle for blooming in the night, unafraid and unashamed.    We doth love you. We thanketh the brilliant Audra Mae for listening with her herte to hear the story in Susan’s soul.

With great gratitude,

Lady Sharon and All in Camelot

Who I Was Born to Be    Lyrics

When I was a child
I could see the wind in the trees

And I heard a song in the breeze
It was there, singing out my name

But I’m not a girl
I have known the taste of defeat

And I have finally grown to believe

It will all came around again

Chorus
And though I may not
Know the answers

I can finally say
I’m free

And if the questions
Led me here, then
I am who I was born to be

And so here am I
Open arms and ready to stand

I’ve got the world in my hands

And it feels like my turn to fly

Chorus

When I was a child
There were flowers that
Bloomed in the night
Unafraid to take in the light
Unashamed to have braved the dark

Chorus

I am who I was born to be
I am who I was born to be.
