Andrea Bocelli

On Thanksgiving night in the US, PBS aired the special, “The David Foster & Andrea Bocelli Christmas Special.”   With purity and grace, Andrea sang some of the most beloved Christmas carols, which are on his new CD.

One of the songs on his new album is Caro Gesù Bambino,   a carol that was composed by Piero Soffici.   The lyrics were written by Pier Quinto Carriaggi.      Caro Gesù Bambino in English means   “Dear Baby Jesus”.

David Foster questions Andrea about the carol “Caro Gesù Bambino”,   on their TV special.      Andrea explains that he loves this song that he heard as a child growing up.     It is the story of a very poor child that tries to ask to Gesu Bambino to come in his house.    The child says I am very poor I have no toys.     I have nothing.     But I am sure that you will come in my house.     We will enjoy ourselves very very much.

So come visit Bambino come.

Andrea Bocelli was born in Lajatico, Tuscany, Italy, about 40 km south of Pisa, and grew up on the family farm.    At birth he had problems with his sight and was diagnosed with glaucoma.    At the age of 12 he completely lost his sight after an accident.   With the guidance of his parents he began to discover his great gift.     Adored now the world over,    we thank Andrea Bocelli for sharing his gift with all of us. We loveth you Andrea.

May each of us, no matter how poor,   find the joy in our hearts that is richer than anything in the world.
