Rhydian Roberts of X Factor Doth Sing O Fortuna Masterly
Rhydian Roberts
Fate, in health and in virtue,
is now against me driven on
and weighted down, always enslaved.
So at this hour without delay
pluck the vibrating string;
since through Fate
strikes down the strong,
everyone weep with me!
Our Minstrel of Silver, Rhydian Roberts, hath released his second album called ‘O Fortuna’. We are honoured he singeth a Medieval Latin Goliardic poem composed early in the thirteenth century. Fortuna was a goddess in Roman mythology and a personification of luck.
In 1935, a brilliant composer, Carl Orff, didst hear this poem and the muse didst inspire him to create a beautiful piece of music to walk with the words of this poem. Carl Orff’s music hast filled our souls with the heavenly spheres. Listen to this masterful voice.
When Rhydian didst sing on the X Factor, we knew he had a special light. Now the gift of song doth shine greater and he findeth his way with songs that reflect his heart. The video is dark and mesmerizing, rather like our journey in Camelot.
For those Knights tonight who have been struck down, we shall walk together with power and drama and the strength of the soul. Fortuna be with thee.
