Bethany Hamilton, at the age of 13 left the shore to surf in with the wave. From the dark underneath a shark bit off her arm and left her bleeding profusely. With heroic strength she managed to make it to the shore where her friends and paramedics helped her to survive.
Within this young girl, courage dwelled. As she gained strength, her sword of faith fought the darkness. In just a short time she wiped away her tears and the deadly shadow, and let her celestial courage carry her over the waves once more.
Her fearless journey has now been portrayed in a film called "Soul Surfer" starring AnnaSophia Robb, Helen Hunt, Dennis Quaid, Lorraine Nicholson. and American Idol winner Carrie Underwood.
