I’d Catch A Grenade For Ya -Throw My Hand on a Blade for Ya -by Bruno Mars
Bruno Mars - Grenade
I’d catch a grenade for ya
Throw my hand on a blade for ya
I’d jump in front of a train for ya
You know I’d do anything for ya
Bruno Mars (Peter Gene Hernandez) writes beautiful passionate songs. "Grenade" methinks, hast a
touch of chivalry expressed with true belief by Bruno Mars. He describes his thoughts:
"Today, I get to share with you the visual companion piece to my new single, ‘Grenade.’ The song is
about loving someone so deeply, and the pain of knowing that the person you love does not feel the same. The actions in this video serve as a metaphor, and should not be taken literally. I am aware of the power of visual media, and I encourage everyone who watches this video to understand that it is an artistic interpretation of the song, and not something to imitate." — Bruno Mars
Watch "Grenade".
Artistically painted, Bruno lets us feel the pain. The metaphor could be extended to any sacrifice of love. When anyone loves enough to sacrifice and it is not appreciated and given the honor it deserves, it does tear one’s heart out. Bruno captures how broken and forsaken one feels. A tragic moment captured brilliantly both through the song and through his voice.
Born and raised in the Waikiki neighborhood of Honolulu, Hawaii, the 25 year old musician grew up with a deep love for classic rock ’n’ roll. With a Puerto Rican father and a Filipino mother Bruno Mars grew up in a musical family and began performing to a diverse mix of music at a young age.
Bruno Mars moved in 2003 to Los Angeles, California. He is credited for writing and co-writing the hit songs popularized by other artists like "Nothin’ On You," "Billionaire," "Right Round," "Wavin’ Flag," and "Get Sexy," among many others. This year he was nominated for seven Grammys at the 53rd Grammy Awards, winning Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for "Just the Way You Are". "Grenade" and "Just the Way You Are" , from the album, "Doo-Wops & Hooligans", peaked at number three on the Billboard 200. His latest single "The Lazy Song" has just been released".
There is incredible talent in this young musician and we thank him for following his heart and giving us his beautiful gift.

Grenade Lyrics
Easy come, easy go, that’s just how you live
Oh, take, take, take it all but you never give
Should’ve known you was trouble from the first kiss
Had your eyes wide open, why were they open?
Gave you all I had and you tossed it in the trash
You tossed it in the trash, you did
To give me all your love is all I ever asked
‘Cause what you don’t understand is
I’d catch a grenade for ya
Throw my hand on a blade for ya
I’d jump in front of a train for ya
You know I’d do anything for ya
I would go through all this pain
Take a bullet straight through my brain
Yes, I would die for you, baby
But you won’t do the same
No, no, no, no
Black, black, black and blue, beat me ’til I’m numb
Tell the devil I said, hey, when you get back to where you’re from
Mad women, bad women, that’s just what you are, yeah
You’ll smile in my face then rip the brakes out my car
Gave you all I had and you tossed it in the trash
You tossed it in the trash, yes, you did
To give me all your love is all I ever asked
‘Cause what you don’t understand is
I’d catch a grenade for ya
Throw my hand on a blade for ya
I’d jump in front of a train for ya
You know I’d do anything for ya
I would go through all this pain
Take a bullet straight through my brain
Yes, I would die for ya, baby
But you won’t do the same
If my body was on fire
Ooh, you’d watch me burn down in flames
You said you loved me, you’re a liar
‘Cause you never, ever, ever did, baby
But darling, I’d still catch a grenade for ya
Throw my hand on a blade for ya
I’d jump in front of a train for ya
You know I’d do anything for ya
I would go through all this pain
Take a bullet straight through my brain
Yes, I would die for you, baby
But you won’t do the same
No, you won’t do the same
You wouldn’t do the same
Ooh, you never do the same
No, no, no, no
