So it is interesting to read that the Ontario Court of Appeal has substantially upheld a record $3 million award for chronic pain following a medical malpractice case.

Topamax Linked to Oral Birth Defects
Topamax (Topiramate ) is an anticonvulsant (antiepilepsy) drug most frequently prescribed for, the prevention of migraines. A new study has found that Topamax appears to increase the risk for oral birth defects in women taking the medication. Women taking Topamax are 20 times more likely to have infants that develop cleft lips or cleft palate deformities than those who are not taking the drug.

A new study in the Journal of Neuroscience shows that scientists have discovered a link between a protein called PKM and our recollection of disturbing events. The research shows that the connection between just two neurons can erase some long-term memory.
