Ell/Nikki of Azerbaijan Wins Eurovision And Jedward’s Lipstick Charms

Running Scared and Lipstick

With a global audience of more than 125 million, the finals of the 56th Eurovision Song Contest 2011, was broadcast from a fully packed Fortuna Düsseldorf Arena in Germany. The Eurovision Song Contest is an annual competition among active member countries of the European Broadcasting Union, where each member country submits a song to be performed on live television. Then votes are cast for the most popular song.

The winning song this year was from Nigar Jamal and Eldar Gasimov from Azerbaijan, who go by the name Ell/Nikki, for their classic pop ballad "Running Scared".
Watch Ell/Nikki sing Running Scared.

Ireland provided strong competition this year with Jedward (John and Edward Grimes). These brothers may have lost the talent show in Britain, the "X Factor", but their career has continued to rise with their postive upbeat vibe. One must never take these two very seriously as they have so much fun.
Watch Jedward perform their psychedelic song "Lipstick".

Ell/Nikki represent Azerbaijan so next year’s songfest will be hosted in Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan, a first-time Eurovision winner, is the largest country in the Caucasus region of Eurasia. It is bounded by the Caspian Sea to the east, Russia to the north, Georgia to the northwest, Armenia to the west, and Iran to the south.

Congratulations to Ell/Nikki and Azerbaijan.

Till next year’s Eurovision,

Lady Sharon
Scribe of Camelot
