Katy Perry’s latest addicting single "E.T." has reached triple platinum status, selling three million copies. From the moment it begins the hypnotic beat lures you into another mesmerizing dimension.

Beautifully articulated perhaps through a metaphor, how a deeper kind of love or connection with someone can seem so strange and intriguing like from another world. True intimacy can seem so foreign to us especially to those who have not known deep love. In the lyrics, Katy even questions if he is a devil or an angel, unsure because of her own fears.
But the minute he touches her and she feels the connection, she decides to trust her heart and surrender, no matter what others say. "They don’t understand you.." Katy does understand and she then asks him to lead her into the light. This shows her trust that he will do her no harm since they are walking towards the light.
She tells him that she "Wanna be a victim ..Ready for abduction…" where she wants to give her total self for him. The seduction between them is very tantalizing but also very tender and deep.
Kanye’s lyrics are more raw and sexualized to contrast her world. Yet she sees past his words to something deeper, the way most of us see past people’s swagger’s in life.
The song also is about the courage to explore connections with others even when our fears tell us they are different in some way. In Camelot we welcome people from all different places and even aliens that wear Prada spacesuits and hang out at bars on Mars.
